Ted Myers' RCAF hat

Significance

This hat was worn by Ted Myers during World War II when he was an Airman in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The hat is made of navy blue wool, and displays an RCAF Officer badge on the front. The badge consists of three elements: the royal crown, an eagle and a gold wreath.
In 1945 the University of British Columbia issued a yearbook commemorating those students who had to give up their studies to fight in WWII. Ted Myers is listed in this yearbook under his given name, ‘Myers, Fred C.’ in the Faculty of Arts.
