Vancouver tourist booklet
Significance
This booklet was published by the Vancouver Sun newspaper in the early days of the Great Depression to encourage tourists to visit Vancouver and business people to advertise here (in the Sun, of course). Most of the book is black and white views of local scenic spots photographed by well-known Vancouver photographer Leonard Frank. The last page lists “market facts” about Vancouver (including “Racial origins – a responsive market”) and an inset map illustrating the draw of Greater Vancouver’s retail shopping from surrounding markets.
