After completing their critically acclaimed book The 100-Mile Diet, James MacKinnon and Alisa Smith embarked on a North American tour that took them to some of the greatest and most unheralded local food hotspots today. What they discovered were dozens of inventive and effective local projects that point toward a very different future for food.
