Remember the moments, in sunny February 2010, when the city came together to celebrate and engage in friendly competition with the world in this small sample of the almost 2,000 artifacts that make up the Vancouver 2010 Legacy Collection.
Visitors will enjoy reminiscing over the mascots, the Torch Relay, the Four Host First Nations, and more.
The collection is owned by the Canadian Olympic Committee and managed by City of Vancouver through an agreement with the Museum of Vancouver. During 2010 and 2011, the Museum made space in its storeroom for this mass of new material. Now MOV staff are cataloguing and creating digital images of the collection, a project we plan to complete in 2012. Within a year, the public will be able to browse images and information about the Olympic Collection on MOV’s new on-line collection database openMOV.
